Singer Shinji and her husband, singer Moon Won, discussed gifts and communication in a couples counseling video released about 5 months after their wedding. Shinji appeared with Moon Won in a video posted Oct. 21 on the YouTube channel 'Eotteoshinji.' Shinji and Moon Won received couples counseling in the video. They visited a counseling center and used a questionnaire they had completed beforehand to discuss their differences. Singer Shinji married singer Moon Won at Raum Art Center in Seoul's Gangnam district on May 2. They met as a radio DJ and guest in 2024 and announced their marriage plans in June 2025.
Shinji said she appreciated Moon Won's gift but felt uncomfortable receiving presents. She said he had remembered something she had told him and given her a large luxury handbag. Shinji said she treasures the luxury handbag Moon Won gave her so much that she has been unable to carry it. She said she felt stressed when its lack of use became a source of pressure from him. The counselor advised the couple to understand each other's feelings when giving and receiving gifts. Shinji told Moon Won she already knew he loved her and that his presence helped her, without his needing to try harder or cook for her.
The couple also discussed how they viewed Shinji's time at home. Moon Won said he wondered how to care for her when she appeared drained after work. He said he tried to respond promptly to her requests and to get her things she wanted, even if it took time. Shinji said her stress came from matters outside their relationship. Moon Won was aware of her work calls and how things were progressing, she said, so he could see when she was on edge. Shinji explained that she uses her energy while working outside and recharges by resting at home. She said watching TV and spending time with her dog and Moon Won made that time restful and happy for her.
Shinji said she had recently stopped telling Moon Won much about what happened outside the home. Moon Won said that when she told him someone had caused her stress, he became even angrier and criticized that person. He said he had thought this showed empathy and acknowledged that he tended to offer solutions. Shinji said she would prefer him simply to listen and recognize that the experience had been difficult. The counselor encouraged him to listen fully, and Moon Won said he thought he could do that. In an earlier video filmed during a visit to Oido, Shinji said she had become less talkative after work because she did not want to bring outside stress home to him. Moon Won said the change left him both disappointed and concerned.
